Sven Ivar Dysthe is one of the most famous Norwegian designers from the 20th Century. He is one of the founders of the Pop Design movement in Norway.
He met with great success and some of his pieces are part of the legendary furniture from the 20th Century. The 1001 (1959/1960), the Popcorn (1968), the Prisma (1968), the Planet (1965) and the Laminette (1966) furniture lines marked the world of design. The lines and the curves of his creations are timeless thanks to his modern vision. Biography Sven Ivar Dysthe was born in 1931 in Norway. He studied at the very well-known Royal College of Art in London. After graduation in industrial design, he came back to his country of origin where he founded his own company in 1958. From the 60s, he began collaboration with Fora Form, he designed several pieces of furniture for them. During his entire career, he received many awards that provide him an international notoriety. He was made Knight of the First Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of St Olav in 2010. Sven Ivar Dysthe had deeply marked the history of design, he is one of the greats designers.
