Wilkins

Victor B. WILKINS

Wilkins began his career working for Walter Dorwin Teague's industrial design firm. He then founded his own design studio in 1928, where he worked on a wide variety of projects, from designing food packaging to furniture and household appliances.

He is best known for his collaborations with the Hamilton Beach appliance company, for whom he designed numerous products, such as mixers, toasters and coffee machines. He also worked for other companies such as General Electric and Sterling Faucet.

Wilkins pioneered the use of plastic in the design of everyday objects and helped popularize the Art Deco style in the USA. His designs were both functional and elegant, and left their mark on the aesthetics of the time.

Charles Victor Wilkins died in 1969 at the age of 76, but his legacy in the world of industrial design lives on to this day.
