About this vintage design furniture
This armchair is known as ’Type 6950’ and is designed by Czech architect Jaroslav Smidek in early 1960’s. It is a beautiful example of so called ’Brussels Style’, which was a style named after Expo 58 in Brussel where Czechoslovakia won 13 major awards, including one for the furniture design.

About the designer
Jaroslav SMIDEK
Jaroslav Smidek is a Czech industrial designer born in 1988 in Prague. He studied at the University of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where he graduated with a degree in industrial design in 2013.
