About this vintage design furniture
Elegant British-produced theater spotlight/projector - Strand - pattern 23 - from the 1950's mounted on an adjustable wooden tripod converted into a beautiful and uniquely designed home/office lamp.Imagined by aircraft designer Morgan McLeod and manufactured in the 1950's in England, this was the first to be mass-produced in aluminum. This iconic example of British design was made by The Strand Lighting Company in their Covent Garden workshops in London's West End.A rare model that has been restored to give it a second life. The head has been stripped and polished to restore the shine to the chrome-plated metal. The 500-watt lamp and bayonet have been removed and replaced with an ordinary screw-in bayonet that takes ordinary household bulbs or energy savers.New vintage black woven cotton wiring has also been installed with a grounded on/off switch.A wonderful piece of British theater history in your home or office.Dimensions: W 58 x D 58 x H 105 (lowest) / H 157 (tripod unfolded) / H 177 (head and tripod fully unfolded)Origin: EnglandEra: 50'sDesigner: Morgan McLeod
