About this vintage design furniture

A modernist style red glass vase made in Japan at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s by the Sanyu Glass factory. An object with a simple, minimalist form of a cylinder. Very good condition, with slight traces of use. Signed item. Dimensions: height 18.5cm | base diameter 5 cm | diameter 5cm | inlet diameter 5 cm Dimensions in inches: height 7.3 in | base diameter 2 in. | diameter 2 in. | inlet diameter 2 in Sanyu Glass Co. is based in Osaka, Japan. They have been making art glass since around 1950, and like Iwatsu, the quality and style are similar to, and often confused with, Italian Murano glass and Czech glass from the same era. Notable labels include a black and silver circular label that reads "Registered, Sanyu, Made in Japan" and red and gold labels that say "Fantasy Glass", sometimes featuring the name "Narumi", which apparently is the homeware brand that Sanyu glass introduced for trading.
