Pair of vintage Egg armchairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, 1958

Pair of early production Arne Jacobsen Egg chairs. Designed in 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel Copenhagen. This is the first model, without seat cushions. Produced by Fritz Hansen c. 1959. 1st Edition. New upholstery in fine black „Canyon“ leather from Arne Sørensen, Denmark. The last photo shows the chairs before new upholstery. The old Fritz Hansen brand was still stamped on the leather or fabric in the first production series. It was professionally reupholstered by AP Møbelpolstring Horsens / Aalborg Denmark.
