Karen Degett (1954 in Århus – 9 February 2011) was a Danish painter, graphic artist, draftsman, building decoration and project maker in visualization and production, and lived in Svarte outside Ystad in Sweden. Karen Degett was educated at the universities of Aalborg, Bergen and Aarhus and from a number of international study trips, including Greece and Japan. She debuted in 1984 in Kvindegallerie 180/KP in Aarhus and has subsequently participated in censored exhibitions in Denmark, Spain, France, Japan, Canada, Slovenia and Scotland. In addition, she has participated in solo exhibitions and other exhibitions in a number of countries. Karen Degett founded the Hotel Vanitas group together with the artists Steen Rasmussen and Tina Gjerulff. Karen Degett died on February 9, 2011 of cancer. Reference : 263383
