About this vintage design furniture
Original Large AJ Royal pendant in white by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen, 1980s. Designed in 1960 by Arne Jacobsen for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the AJ Royal is an icon that follows Jacobsen's overall geometric shape concept. The spherical dome shape is simple yet complex. The circular ringed louvers on top provide a glow while still maintaining a clean domed shape. Arne Jacobsen was born and raised in Copenhagen. In 1927, he graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After graduating, he obtained his first job at the office of the City Architect of Copenhagen launching his own office only two years later.
