About this vintage design furniture

Antique leather hat box by Jacob van Heeckeren tot Enghuizen 1792-1884. It has a brass plate with the name on top of the handle. Around various travel stickers including from the Amstelhotel. There is no key anymore and 2 straps are missing on the side to secure the lid. Source wikipedia: Jacob Derk Borchard Anne baron van Heeckeren, lord of Beverweerd and Odijk, also called: Van Heeckeren tot Enghuizen and: Van Heeckeren van Beverweerd, (Zutphen, November 28, 1792 – Paris, September 28, 1884) was a Dutch soldier and diplomat. He obtained the title of baron of the First French Empire in 1813. Van Heeckeren, a member of the Van Heeckeren family, was the youngest son of Member of the Senate Evert Frederik, baron van Heeckeren, lord of Driebergen, Enghuizen and Beurse (1755-1831), member of the Generality Chamber, and Henriette Jeanne Suzanna Marie des HR Rijksgravin van Nassau La Lecq, lady of Beverweerd and Odijk (1764-1810). He was unmarried. In Saint Petersburg he met Georges d'Anthès, an officer in the Russian army and the son of a landowner in French Alsace. After a number of letters and a visit to Joseph Conrad d'Anthès, father of Georges, Jacob proposed to adopt his son so that he would inherit the name and property. The old Baron d'Anthès accepts the offer, and Georges calls himself Georges-Charles de Heeckeren d'Anthes, after permission from King William I, in a letter dated 5 May 1836. Writers have suggested that the relationship between Jacob and Georges was more than that of adoptive father-son. After a duel between Georges and the poet Aleksandr Pushkin (who died of his injuries), Jacob was recalled from Saint Petersburg. In fair to good condition for its age. Reference : 256471
