About this vintage design furniture
Mid century corner folding sofa designed by František Jirák for Tatra nábytok. It was made in the former Czechoslovakia in the 1960´s. This sofa features a wooden structure that is veneered in beech wood. The sofa is in very good Vintage condition, showing slight signs of age and using. The fabric was reupholstered during the 1990´s but its look matches the design of the 1970´s.

About the designer
Frantisek JIRAK
František Jiránek (1898-1978) was a Czech designer who worked in the 1920s and 1930s. He is best known for his work in furniture design, but also designed objects in glass and ceramics.
