Arctander

Philip ARCTANDER

Arctander created several iconic pieces of Danish design at the time, including the "Clam" armchair (1944), considered one of his masterpieces. This armchair is characterized by its organic, enveloping shape, inspired by shells, which offers great comfort to its user.

Arctander also designed other furniture, such as sofas, tables and lighting fixtures, as well as decorative objects in ceramics and glass. His creations are distinguished by their sculptural form, use of natural materials and attention to detail.

Although Arctander's career was relatively short, his work has had a major influence on Danish and Scandinavian design in general. His creations are sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts the world over.
