About this vintage design furniture
Designed as part of a competition to furnish the rooms of the Cité Universitaire de Nancy, the vitra cité chair is one of jean prouvé's first masterpieces. With generous dimensions and a comfortable upholstery in fabric cité, this seat has skids in lacquered sheet metal and armrests formed by large leather straps. Condition: good condition, some signs of use.

About the designer
Jean PROUVE
1901 - 1984Jean Prouvé (1901-1984) was a French designer and builder. Born in Nancy, he began working in his father's iron workshop before studying art and design at the École de Nancy. In the 1920s, he began designing metal furniture and founded his own company, Ateliers Jean Prouvé, in 1923.
