Vintage bubble 3-seater sofa by Sacha Lakic for Roche Bobois, France 2014

Spectacular contemporary design by Sacha Lakic for Roche Bobois; the Bubble series was designed in 2014 and became an overnight success. The designer was inspired by puffy clouds and natural forms before designing the sofa. The designer wanted to envision a cloud like design that still offers maximum comfort and usability. For the sofa, a new fabric was developed called Techno 3D. This is a versatile and stretchable fabric consisting of a base (under) layer and a stretchable top fabric in a punctured open structure. The base layer and top fabric have a different color, providing for a very interesting visual contrast. The sofa is handmade and just like many other French sofas from Roche Bobois or Ligne Roset from earlier decades, the Bubble is build around a full foam cut-to-shape form. The design was awarded a gold award at the Design Awards 2015. Ever since, the model has been very popular in the design world. Noteworthy is that these sofas are already very sought after, despite that the design is still young. Delivery times of new sofas are very long and there is currently a waiting line for this sofa. This specific sofa features a grey white Techno 3D fabric. The original Roche Bobois label is attached to the sofa, providing its authenticity. The sofa is in very good condition with only one small repaired damage on the seat in the top fabric, along with some slight discoloration. Reference : 246417
