Vintage chrome-plated metal and leather cantilever armchair by Matteo Grassi, 1970

Cantilever chair in chromed metal and black leather attributed to Matteo Grassi, in the 1970s. This chair has a pure line, with a chromed metal tubular structure. The back, seat and armrests are upholstered in black leather in excellent condition. It is stitched with saddle stitch, a technique of sewing with two needles, very popular because of its strength. We will underline the presence under this chair of two metal hoops with screw thread. They allow, in a simple and fast way, to adjust the tension of the leather and thus the firmness of the seat. It is worth noting that the latter seems to be suspended, due to the absence of vertical feet at the back. This design, in addition to bringing an airy spirit to this chair, also offers the advantage of giving flexibility: it will adapt to the position of its user. With its original curves, this chair brilliantly combines comfort and timeless design. In good general condition, some traces of wear: stains on the back leather, several scratches and oxidation.
