Vintage armchair and ottoman by Eames for Icf, Italy 1970s

Rarely seen Eames Lounge chair & Ottoman produced by ICF Italy in the 1970’s. ICF held the licence from Herman Miller to produce this design for around 10 years before Vitra became the sole European manufacturer. As they had a relatively short production run ICF chairs are very seldom seen. The chair features beautiful Butterscotch leather with the most wonderful aged patina and very dark almost black rosewood veneered plywood shells. The contrast between the light colour leather and the dark shells is very pleasing and very unusual to see on this design. As with other ICF examples the seat cushion is feather filled while the backrest cushions are foam. This is unique among Eames Lounge chairs and gives a great level of comfort. Polished aluminium base and back supports with rubber spacers as per the early production chairs. Offered in very good condition. The original shockmounts have been inspected and are nice and solid. The leather is nice and supple with no tears or breaks. Embossed model numbers to the base. A very rare and eyecatching incarnation of this beautiful design classic. Reference : 245043
