Danish sofa bed Model FD 451 by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen for the publisher France and Søn in 1956.restoration in full upholstery according to the rules of art by our professional partner specialist furniture XXth. The mattress and cushions have been renovated as originally. It would have been simpler and less expensive to change the spring mattress by a simple foam but Old-design strives to preserve the origin while improving it. We kept the traditional spring structure. The France and Son label still hung on the inside and has remained there. The heavy canvas was completely changed. And to ensure a better comfort, a HR foam and wadding were added: keeping the origin while improving it. This FD 451 model is unique with its new grey-green upholstery from the French brand Casamance: a blend of linen/cotton woven with 100% natural products and bears the Oeko-Tex label: the first certification to guarantee human-ecological qualities. (the seat is removable and washable). Its weaving allows an intensive use. Structure in solid teak and cane in very good condition. Ingenious system of conversion: the armrests are tilted thanks to a brass button that unlocks a sliding bar. This makes it possible to obtain a bed of rest or an auxiliary bed.
