About this vintage design furniture
The floor lamp consists of a moulded opal perspex diffuser, a brass stem and a black cast iron base; it can be used both as a reading lamp and, thanks to the opal diffuser, as an ambient light.
The lamp was designed by the Gregotti-Meneghetti-Stoppino Studio in 1966, the designers worked together from 1953 to 1969.
The company Arteluce, founded by Gino Sarfatti, produced some of the most iconic lamps ever.
Bibliography: Catalogo Arteluce anni '70, p. 69; G. Gramigna, Repertorio del design italiano 1950-2000 volume 1, p.130.
The object is in good original condition apart from some age-related oxidation spots visible on the brass rod.
