Antoni Citterio is a great Italian designer. His international reputation and his recognition in Italy are impressive. He is a real reference in the world of design.
He works with major Italian and international companies including Kartell, Vitra, Flos, B&B Italia, Maxalto, Sanitec Group Pozzi Ginori… He created mythic pieces which are exhibited in the most beautiful museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New-York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. We think of the Mobil container system (1993) and the Battisa trolley (1991). Biography Antoni Citterio was born in Italy in 1950. He graduated from the Polytechnic Institute of Milan in architecture. He founded in 1972 his own studio dedicated to industrial design. With Patricial Viel, he founded in 1999 an agency specialized in architecture, design and graphics. His work received many rewards: two Compasso d’Oro, the Mies van der Rohe prize and the Royal Design for Industry by the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. During the 2000s, several editors have dedicated monograph to him. Considered as a real reference of Italian design, he teaches architecture at the University of Italian Switzerland. He is also a member of the Italian design Council which depends on the Italian Ministry of Culture.
