About this vintage design furniture
Designed by renowned Czech interior architect and designer, Jan Vanek. It has been restored and reupholstered by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process. Sold individually This item features classic Mid-Century Modern (MCM) design elements. Elements of MCM interior design include clean lines, muted tones, a combination of natural and manmade materials, graphic shapes and vibrant colors. Perfect for livelier, more colourful spaces. More about the designer: Between 1905 and 1909 Vanek studied at the industrial school for wood processing, then, in 1911 he lived in Germany, where he worked in furniture workshops in Munich, Stuttgart and Heilbronn. Vanek also worked with architects such as Bruno Paul. In 1911 he took over his father’s workshop. In 1925, he founded the Standard company, which designed furniture for the iconic 1930s Tugendhat villa.

About the designer
Jan VANEK
Jan Vanek was a Czech industrial designer born in Prague in 1940 and died in 2011. He studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, graduating in 1964.
