About this vintage design furniture

This floor lamp, the 'Coupé' model, was designed by Joe Colombo for Oluce, Italy, in 1967. The Coupé series, designed by Colombo, was originally conceived as a variation of the Spider family, created by the same designer, from which it retained the base and stem. The simple and ingenious mechanism that connects the stem to the head allows the beam to be directed in several directions, moving the dome up, down and to the sides. In 1968, Coupé won the "International Design Award" from the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago. It is in the permanent collection of MoMA in New York and the "Neue Sammlung" museum in Munich. It has a lacquered metal base with a chrome stem and a lacquered aluminum reflector. The lamp is in original and good vintage condition.
