About this vintage design furniture
These shell lounge chairs are an interesting example of Czechoslovak mid-century furniture design. They were designed by Miroslav Navratil or František Jirák. They are associated with the “Brussels period” and world-renowned EXPO 58. The chairs has a laminated construction and wooden legs. An upholstery is in its original condition an it shows signs of age and use (faded surfaces and several upholstery defects). If interested, we can provide new upholstery. Miroslav NAVRATIL
Miroslav Navratil is a Czech industrial designer born in 1952 in Prague. He graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in 1978, where he studied product design.
