About this vintage design furniture
Small Midcentury plate from Nils Thorsson's Baca series for Royal Copenhagen. This highly detailed ceramic plate is part of Royal Copenhagen's BACA series, designed by Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) and produced in the 1960s. This particular plate is made of stoneware and has been decorated with Thorsson's intricate and detailed relief pattern. The BACA series, with its characteristically bold, abstract patterns designed by various artists under the direction of Nils Thorsson, is considered by many to be the quintessential example of mid-century modernism in ceramics. The bowl is stamped with Nils Thorsson's signature stamp and a blue mark from Alulminia that was later acquired by Royal Copenhagen.
