About this vintage design furniture

Arkana Tulip Dining Table Available for sale, a 1960’s British designed dining table by Maurice Burke for Arkana. Comprises of a teak veneered top on a white tulip base with an authenticity stamp, no 22 on the bottom of the stand. The table is an ideal size at 120cm in width. The removable top (once unscrewed) sits on a sturdy heavyset base - ideal for easy transportation. Maurice Burke was a Canadian furniture designer (1921- 2013). There isn’t much information about this designer, but his work was much sort after in Britain in the 1960s and 70s, making it even more valuable today. Burke designed for Arkana, a British company with a factory in Scotland and offices in Bath, in the mid to late 1960s. Arkana was taken over by the Christie Tyler Group who also owned Avalon Furniture and the Bath Cabinet Makers. The Arkana headquarter building was demolished in the mid 1990s, long after they had ceased trading. Dimensions (cm): 73H x 120W x 120D Condition: Very good condition, some signs of vintage wear. The top looks excellent and has been well maintained.
