About this vintage design furniture

Rare executive desk, large format, of the French designer Jean Claude Mahey. It is a piece of exception. This desk was edited in the mid 1970s and is entirely made of lacquered wood and finished in brass. Indeed, the top is decorated with a "marquetry" in brass and the handles are also in brass. The contrast of lacquered wood and brass is a characteristic of the work of Jean Claude Mahey. This desk is of exceptional quality. It typically describes the elegance of French furniture of the 1970s-1980s, as did the house of Romeo or the house of Jansen. It has two drawers in the waist that reveal a light wood that still makes a very nice contrast with the exterior. The cabinet has three drawers that reveal a black interior. It is 42 x 59 x 61 cm (W x H x D). The signature is on the brass base of the cabinet. The lacquer is in very good condition. Minimal and normal marks of use.
