About this vintage design furniture
Scissors-style wall lamp in dark-stained pine wood with a new shade made from reclaimed 1960s fabric. This print, titled "Mexico", is one of many highly successful designs by Finnish textile artist Marjatta Metsovaara. Metsovaara was one of the pioneers of the Finnish school of textile designs in the mid-1900's. These wooden lamps called "scissors" were very popular in Scandinavia in the 1960's. It stretches to 75 cm and folds to about 20 cm. It is also laterally adjustable. The shade measures 22 x 20 cm.The scissor arm is made by the Swedish manufacturer Ivars. Rewired with a new bulb socket. The shade has been professionally sewn around a new wire frame. The fabric is in excellent condition with no stains and vibrant colors.It accepts a standard E27 bulb.
