About this vintage design furniture
Austrian mid-century beechwood stacking armchairs in very good condition, lightly restored and refinished. The seats and perforated backs are made of bent plywood.This iconic chair was designed by Roland Rainer in the early 1950s and was used for the Vienna City Hall, produced by A and E Pollak Vienna. This model is therefore widely known as the Wiener Stadthallensessel and is one of the most sought-after pieces of post-war Austrian design.

About the designer
Roland RAINER
Roland Rainer was an Austrian architect and designer who was born in 1910 and died in 2004. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and began his career working for the Austrian architect Clemens Holzmeister.
