Set of 6 vintage rosewood chairs by Niels Moller for J L Møller Møbelfabrik, Denmark 1960

Set of six Rio rosewood dining chairs, Danish paper cord seat, by Niels Moller, for J L Møller Møbelfabrik, Denmark, circa 60's. Iconic, cream of the crop Scandinavian chair with light and airy design were handmade and designed in 1962. Acquired from the original owner, the set is in excellent original condition and vintage condition with some traces and marks of time and use on the structure and patina of time (see photos.) The structures have been fully cleaned, treated and oiled with linseed oil. The seats are impeccable because they have been completely redone to the original by hand by one of the few craftsmen mastering this technique. The natural beige rope was ordered from Denmark and has a thickness of 3.5 mm. The restoration of the seats required more than 40 hours of work and more than 6 months of patience. The rosewood models are more and more difficult to find, as rosewood is no longer allowed in furniture for its protection. Seat height: 45 cm
