About this vintage design furniture
Lovely and practical stool of bendwood and cognac colored leather seat by G A Berg for Br. Anderssons 1940s. The stool has a square shaped top seat and nicely bended and sculpted birch legs gradually thinner downwards. Marked under with: Aktiebolaget GA Berg, Stockholm. Measures: 44 cmH x 33 cmD x 33cmW. Seat height: 44 cm. Gustav Axel Berg was the designer who in 1939 came to launch the concept of "Swedish modern" in New York. Already two years earlier, during the World Exhibition in Paris, he had been one of the leading figures in Swedish funkis. He is known for his anatomical sitting curves and innovative bendwood furniture.
