About this vintage design furniture
This modernist umbrella stand, in the style of renowned French-Hungarian designer Mathieu Matégot, features four spherical plastic legs, supporting a patinated brass basket and an organic, curved perforated sheet. The brass frame turns into a crown at the top of the basket, from which a brass stand with a wooden end protrudes. This is a truly stunning piece, very much rooted in the 1950s, but can fit into any interior due to its versatility. PLACE OF ORIGIN: France MANUFACTURING DATE: c. 1950s PERIOD: 1955 - 1965 MATERIALS & TECHNIQUES: Powder coated metal, brass, plastic, wood CONDITION: Good original condition WEAR: Wear consistent with age and use. Some minor patina and scratches on the brass and powder coated metal. HEIGHT: 89cm 35in WIDTH: 32cm 12.5in DEPTH: 15cm 5.9in
