Vintage double desk in teak veneer by Gérard Guermonprez, 1950
About this vintage design furniture
Double Retro spirit desk, attributed to French Designer Gérard Guermonprez (1895-1981). The furniture models of this Tourquennois were distributed mainly in North Africa and the Paris region - notably in the Bobois houses - in the 1960s.This Vis à Vis Desk offers a Teak Veneer top in perfect condition as well as two boxes of the same wood. The latter, arranged by definition on either side of the furniture, are each composed of a niche of 11 cm deep, and a drawer assembled in Tail of Arondes. The handles are in Gold Metal, but also Black, recalling the lacquered Industrial style base of this Midway Desk. More precisely, it rests on four straight uprights, voluntarily placed in pairs in an asymmetrical way: two under the top, two under the pedestals. They are linked together by two side bars and an X-shaped brace. Note that this clever unequal distribution of the legs does not alter the stability of the whole. The interior furniture imagined by Guermonprez is resolutely Solid, Simple and Functional. The interior furniture imagined by Guermonprez is resolutely Solid, Simple and Functional. But beyond these attributes, this Double Desk with its light design, will allow you to receive and bring a trendy vintage touch to your private or professional workspace.
