About this vintage design furniture
A very rare G Plan sideboard chest of drawers manufactured circa 1950s in the UK. This sideboard formed part of the ’China White’ range which was introduced in 1956. The unit is in a blonde oak, with the upper drawers in a white lacquer. Striking ebonized legs, set off by brass feet, four deep drawers at the bottom and six smaller drawers above with brass drawer pulls. Early G plan which features the E-Gomme gold stamp to the inside drawer. The condition is very good. Some signs of use may be found. About the designer
Victor B. WILKINS
Charles Victor Wilkins (1893-1969) was an American industrial designer known for his work in the 1920s and 1930s. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and studied at the Art Students League of New York and the New York School of Fine and Applied Art.
