About this vintage design furniture
Porcelain vase with cracked glaze, Lyngby Porcelain.Dia. 10.5 x height 16.5 cmDanish porcelain factory - Lyngby Porcelain (1936 - 1969) began as Kjøbenhavns Porcellains Maleri (KPM) founded in 1883 and was bought by Holst and Knudsen in 1924. The wholesale company Holst and Knudsen imported undecorated porcelain to Denmark and let it be decorated by various small porcelain paintings, including KPM.Due to the crisis of the 1930s, it was almost impossible to import porcelain from Germany. Holst and Knudsen therefore established Porcelænsfabrikken Danmark, later Lyngby Porcelain (1936 - 1969).Porcelain Factory Denmark - Lyngby Porcelain has always been a distinctive mark in the history of Danish porcelain; artistically, but also in production. When production was at its peak, the factory accounted for one third of the total Danish porcelain production. The original products from Porcelænsfabrikken Danmark-Lyngby Porcelæn have a monogram Denmark-Lyngby hand-printed at the bottom. The monogram on this vase was used from 1936 to the 1940s.
