Grey vintage armchair by Oswald Haerdtl, Austria
About this vintage design furniture
Superb mid-century Austrian chaise longue, very large and comfortable, designed by one of the most important Austrian architects of the post-war period, Oswald Haerdtl, who studied and worked with Josef Hoffmann. The chair has a wooden frame with walnut legs, fully restored and upholstered in a new gray KVADRAT fabric. Although it has monumental dimensions, its form and proportions are very elegant and light and it is very comfortable. It comes directly from a Viennese villa, the Villa Pertl, which was designed by Haerdtl in 1957. This fantastic chair is therefore a rare and important piece of post-war Austrian design history.lit... : A. Stiller: Oswald Haerdtl, Vienna 2000, WV 344.
