Danish rosewood bookcase by Johannes Sorth for Nexø Møbelfabrik, Bornholm, Denmark 1960s. Danish Mid-Century Modern bookcase in rosewood. Cabinet with double sliding doors and one height adjustable shelf. Top with three height adjustable bookshelves. Standing round tapered legs. Beautiful rosewood veneer with expressive grain pattern. High quality materials and craftsmanship in this shelving unit, made to last for generations. Stamped with production date and model number. Made in May 1968. Very good original vintage condition. One small hole in backing for wires. Very slightly faded on one side. Cleaned and polished. Ready for use.

About the designer

Johannes SORTH

Johannes Sorth was a renowned Danish designer who was born in 1937 and died in 2017. He is best known for his work in industrial design, particularly for his elegant modern furniture designs. Sorth studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, graduating in 1963.
