About this vintage design furniture

Femininity in wood. Mali origin (Dogon ethnic group).--- Statue of woman represented standing, eyes wide open. Her shaved head bears a sagittal crest running to the nape of the neck. Mostly carved to order by a family, Dogon statues can also be the object of worship by the entire community when they commemorate, for example, the founding of the village. Their functions, however, remain little known.
