About this vintage design furniture
Very large sommerso glass vase designed by Flavio Poli for Alessandro Mandruzzato (Murano, Italy, 1960s). "Sommerso" is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which was very popular in the 1950s-60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. Beautifully colored faceted glass. Colours: dark red, yellow and clear. Usually, such vases are much smaller as shown on the last picture (height: 14 - 20 cm), this one is much larger. Height 25 cm; depth - 8.5 cm (at base); width - 8.5 cm (at base). Very good vintage condition.
