About this vintage design furniture

Original Gispen 201 cantilever chair designed by W.H. Gispen in 1933. Between 1933 and 1955 the dimensions and the shape (curve) changed somewhat. This version with screw fastening of the back and seat was made before 1955. Later in the fifties an invisible fastening of the back and seat was implemented at Gispen. This dining room or office chair with bakelite armrests has been reupholstered with new foam and dark blue rib. The frame is still good and sturdy, but has some chrome loss at the bottom of the frame (see photos). Dimensions: h x w x d 85 x 59 x 52 cm and the seat height is 49 cm. The height of the armrests is 72 cm. Source: Book W.H. Gispen, serie producten 1923 – 1960, page 150. This is an original old Gispen version, not a replica of Dutch Originals.
