About this vintage design furniture

Set of side tables designed by Thonet and produced in the company’s factory in former Czechoslovakia, in the early1930’s. These tables were produced in the 1930’s and it is evident in their design there is a shift towards purist modernist aesthetics. There is no decoration on any part of the surface, the only decor is the wood itself. The tables have a perfectly balanced composition with the table top and lower shelves, and the pure form was quite a radical statement at the time. This simplicity and elegance of their shape together with the beautiful wood a great craftsmanship makes these tables still a modern furniture some 100 years after their production. Both tables have been recently completely refurbished by our experienced craftsman who has carried the restoration to the highest standard, using French polishing technique and Shellac varnish to hand finish the entire piece. Overall, tables show an excellent vintage condition with minimal wear.
