Vintage side table with adjustable formica top, Czechoslovakia 1960
About this vintage design furniture
This Mid Century table with an adjustable light pink formica top was designed and produced in the 1960s in Czechoslovakia. This piece perfectly embodies the elegance of the so-called Brussels style, named after the 1958 Expo in Brussels where Czechoslovakia won 13 awards, including one in the furniture category. The table was designed with great attention to detail and features a simple, slender design with elegantly curved corners of the adjustable top. The subtle pattern of the formica top contrasts beautifully with the dark beech wood frame. The table top rotates 360 degrees and can be adjusted to any position. The side table has been used primarily to display a television or radio, but it can also be used as a side table to serve food. The table frame and legs have been renovated and finished to the highest standard using original techniques and materials, retaining the vintage character. This piece is in excellent condition with minimal wear to the formica top.
