About this vintage design furniture
Wall lightsconce made from strips of orange plastic attached to a beech wood frame. In the 1970s after the great success of this kind of light in transparent pine wood veneer Hans-Agne Jakobsson created a similar series in orange or white transparent plastic. The Scan-light series. This is the V 311 produced at Ellysett. Good condition with only one small fold mark as seen in the last image. This is not a crack just a soft mark in the plastic. Standard E 27 light bulb socket. Hans-Agne Jakobsson was undeniably one of the world’s most versatile and productive lighting designers and manufacturers in the fifties, sixties and seventies. He was also one of the best and most important designers in the Scandinavian era of golden and soft non-dazzle light. His earlier designs follow Scandinavian giants such as Poul Henningsen, Paavo Tynell and Alvar Aalto and he should be seen as important as the concurrent world renowned Nordic lighting designers Greta Magnusson-Grossman, Lisa Johansson-Pape, Verner Panton and Jo Hammerborg.
