Vintage wooden and beech floor lamp by Jindrich Halabala for UP Brno, 1950
About this vintage design furniture
An Art Deco floor lamp with original shade and two low shelves in very good vintage condition. This lamp has a subtle shape and a beautiful combination of walnut veneer, and dark beech wood as well as a delicate floral pattern on the curved shade. This Art Deco piece is the perfect companion for anyone who loves to read in style. The floor lamp was originally designed in the 1930s at the legendary UP factory in Brno (where Jindrich Halabala was art director at the time), and due to its popularity, it remained in production in various slightly different designs until the late 1950s. This piece is fully functional and in perfect overall condition. All parts are original, with the exception of the new wiring. What makes this piece truly unique is the lampshade. It is truly rare to find an original lampshade in such good condition, with no visible damage or wear. All of the wooden parts have been recently and completely refurbished to their former glory. Our experienced craftsman performed the restoration to the highest standard, using a French polishing technique and shellac varnish to hand finish the entire piece.
