Scandinavian vintage velvet living room set for Holm Fabriker AB, Sweden 1960
About this vintage design furniture
This rare modernist living room set was made by Swedish manufacturer Holm Fabriker AB in the early 1960s. It consists of a four-seat sofa and an armchair. It has been finished with the highest quality velvet material in shades of royal blue. This material has a high abrasion cycle and a water repellent protective coating. The base is made of solid wood turned legs. Rounded, contoured sides with wood detailing and padded backs add original character. This set features loose seat cushions. This piece has an extraordinary look and has been crafted with care and precision. Therefore, it can be placed in a central location that will allow you to appreciate the shape from all sides.Karl Holm established his factory in 1918. He was a skilled professional in his field. In 1919, he started to produce sofa frames, which were his specialty. Over time, the company grew. In 1936, an upholstery shop was added. Gradually the factory specialized in the production of reclining sofas with its own patents, but armchairs and other furniture were also produced. The company survived until the 1970's and went down in history.This set is in very good vintage condition. The upholstery has been renewed. The seat has a height of 45 cm. Armchair height 80 cm Width 85 cm Depth 75 cm.
