About this vintage design furniture

For sale is this rare model of tulip chair with wheels, designed by Eero Saarinen, and which, after enquiry with Knoll.com, turns out to have been produced only (and briefly) by Knoll International in France in the early 1960s (no Knoll USA equivalent). The chair (1964 edition) shows traces of life (see photos) but I preferred not to renovate it so it would not lose its authenticity and charm. Originally reclining, the system must have blocked and a previous owner decided to solve the problem by blocking the chair in normal sitting position (via the bolt in picture). It is still possible to remove it and recline the backrest, but without the "speed bump system". Moreover, a part of the base was cracked and was repaired and consolidated with a metal plate added between the base and the leg. The whole thing is quite solid and the crack is invisible because it is under the seat. Finally, the castors (stamped Knoll International) work perfectly and the cushion is new. In short, an iconic armchair that is almost impossible to find, at a price well below its value, taking into account 2 imperfections (tilt and crack).
