About this vintage design furniture

Mid-century Murano sommerso catch-all designed by Flavio Poli and produced by Seguso (Murano, Italy) in 1970s. "Sommerso" (Italian for ’’submerged’’) is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. Thick and extremely decorative. Colours: blue, yellow and clear. Dimensions: diameter: 12.5 cm; length: 9 cm; width: 9 cm; height: 10 cm. Quite heavy (1.6 kg). Can be used as an ashtray or as a display piece on any table. Excellent vintage condition.

Flavio POLI

Flavio Poli (1900-1984) was a renowned Italian designer, known for his work in glass. Born in Chioggia, near Venice, Poli studied at the Institute of Applied Arts in Venice, where he developed a passion for blown glass.
