About this vintage design furniture

Iconic Franco Albini Armchair Model "Marguerita" for Bonacina 1951 Awarded the gold medal at the IX Triennale, Margherita is considered the first "legless" armchair in Italian design. The piece pays tribute to the poor and authentic tradition of popular craftsmanship, such as that of the basket makers. Albini uses a refined engineering device of tensioned structure to create an airy form of seating that is not based on the concept of a structure to be covered but rather transforms the covering itself into a structural system. The curvature of the Indian cane elements is designed to give elastic support to the body by following its shape. Part of the collection at MOMA, New York VITRA Museum, Weil Am Rhein Triennale Design Museum, Milan
