About this vintage design furniture
One of the more rare PH pendant light models is the PH Badminton. A more industrial style PH-lamp with a nice white light spread and an inner cone that protects from direct glare from the sides. This light was designed by Henningsen in the 1930s and has not been in production for the last 50 years. This particular light dates from around 1960s. Good vintage condition but with some minor scratches and signs of age. No dents. Original textile cable and porcelain E27 light bulb socket. Designer and architect Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen in 1894, the illegitimate son of satirical novelist Carl Ewald and feminist activist and writer Agnes Henningsen. In 1925, Henningsen began what would become a lifelong collaboration with Copenhagen-based lighting company Louis Poulsen, for whom he produced over one hundred lamps, all belonging to the PH series, and all based on the idea of multiple shades and diffusors to provide warm, soft light.
