About this vintage design furniture

This lamp, which looks like a flying saucer, was designed in the early 1950s by Louis Kalff for Philips. It represents well the beautiful designs of that decade, I think. Typical terms like "science", "progression" and "renewed freedom" are all readable here. The lamp has an aluminum shade in original condition and has been changed once from the 'DD 39' model to the 'DD 40' model. This has no negative effect on the lamp. Rewired.
