About this vintage design furniture
Stunning and world wide known Cesca chair designed in the 1920s by Marcel Breuer. There have been no less than three official manufacturers of the chair. The first was Thonet, starting in 1927. Then in the 1950s, Gavina started making them with Breuer’s blessing and participation (the Italian company was the first to name the chair the "Cesca", after Breuer’s daughter, Francesca). In the 1960s, Gavina was bought by Knoll, who are today considered to be the only makers of authentic "Cesca" chairs. All of them with minimal differences. This particular chair comes from Italy most likely from the 60-70s. It has a beautiful canning with nice patina (goldenstraw colour) and black varnished beech frame on chrome plated metal structure. It shows some age related signs but it is fully functional. Great vintage decoration to any interior.
