About this vintage design furniture
Servomuto is actually a small family of side tables and still a durable object whose shape perfectly matches its function. It has a stable base with a very limited footprint, a thin vertical rod with a knob at the top to hold it and a small, round, functional surface at an ideal height, where to place objects. In other words, Servomuto is light and easy to move, it is the worthy heir of the indispensable Cicognino by Franco Albini, elegant and balanced. It is part of a large group of articles that all originate from the ashtrays and umbrella stands explicitly designed by the Castiglioni brothers as pieces of furniture for the pubrestaurant Splügen Bräu in Milan in 1961.This ashtray is in good condition, consistent with the age but without use. It has never been used and has only a few small defects, as if it were new.
