About this vintage design furniture
Large mid-century Murano sommerso diamond-shaped ashtray vide poche designed by Flavio Poli and produced by Seguso (Murano, Italy) in 1960s. "Sommerso" (Italian for "submerged") is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. The ashtray is quite heavy (1.4 kg), thick and extremely decorative. Colours: blue, yellow and clear. Dimensions: length: 14 cm; width: 14 cm; height: 8 cm. Can be used as a display piece on any table. Very good vintage condition. Almost invisible micro flea bites.

Flavio POLI
Flavio Poli (1900-1984) was a renowned Italian designer, known for his work in glass. Born in Chioggia, near Venice, Poli studied at the Institute of Applied Arts in Venice, where he developed a passion for blown glass.
